City Mine(d) wants to TURN A WAFFLE INTO A HOUSE.We believe that when you link up the skills people have and the services they are willing to provide, you can trade up from one Belgian Waffle to one of the most expensive things in this city. To achieve this and to explore the concept of MICRONOMICS further, we will present a series of events and stalls: the WAFFLE BANK,, PRECARE, MASTER CLASSES, THE SCHOOL OF EVERYTHING with its FREE SCHOOL and a lot more...

At the WAFFLE BANK you can exchange a skill or a service you can provide for a delicious freshly made BELGIAN WAFFLE or another service or good held in the bank. Your service may be anything from a teaching skill to a technical or caring skill: a language introduction, repairing a bike or a part of a house, massage, a haircut. You may want to offer something that until now escapes defnition: facebooking, city walking, listening...
At the bottom of this page you find a WAFFLE EXCHANGE CHEQUE, which one of our bank directors, Jim and Ludo, will fill out with you. On successful application the Waffle Bank, Stef and Susanne, will cash the cheque for you. You can follow the Waffle Exchange Rate on screen, so you can chose when to invest.

MASTER CLASSES
Media-activist and City Mine(d) free electron Pennie Quinton is temporarily back from Palestine, where she researches and teaches on the role of media in the Middle Eastern conflict. Tonight Pennie takes out her blue sofa again to listen, learn and teach and to host the MICRONOMICS Master Classes. In twenty minutes or less, an expert will teach a skill to an expert in a completely other field, while the audience can listen and join in.

PRECARE addresses the scarce availability of affordable work space. There are different ways to find a shelter for the initiative you want to create and tonight Nelly, Giulia and Fred explain the City Mine(d) PRECARE programme and its potential for London. PRECARE operates as intermediate between owners of temporary vacant premises and cultural or social initiatives in need of workspace. Since 1999 PRECARE has managed 14 buildings in Brussels on a temporary basis and provided over a hundred initiatives with work space. The project is now expanding to London, Barcelona and Milan. www.precare.org
