Bubble

The bubble is a large translucent bag that serves as meeting and presentation space. City Mine(d) has bubbles available in Brussels, London and Barcelona.

The bubble provides a solution to rainy weather and attracts attention to places and activities that often remain unnoticed. Along with the Unidentified Inflated Object, passers-by see a green space they weren’t aware of before; for the media it can serve as a lens to focus attention on a local or community activity. The bubble is also an asset for those with little means in the struggle for space.

The bubble is a large translucent bag the size of a basketball (50 by 20 feet) made of polyethylene greenhouse film and is inflated with a small fan. It takes less than an hour to put it up, and can stay up as long as there is electricity supply.

The bubble has been used in Brussels for a break dance festival, in London for an R&B dance act and a book launch, and in Barcelona for film screenings. City Mine(d) is happy to put up the bubble for any event that re-values and re-vitalizes urban public space.
